Origins of Inquiry
The Matriarch has long sought to understand the origins of the Imran family lineage. This inquiry formally began on 17 January 2026, following a personal interpretive insight regarding how the present era may be read within the Qur’an.
During repeated engagement with “The True Story of Jesus”, the Matriarch experienced a moment of reflection in which Qur’anic passages addressing Maryam (Mary) were understood as personally resonant. This experience catalysed the research that led to the findings presented below.
Family of Imran and the Matriarch (Massiah Family)
Within this interpretive approach:
- Ali Imran is understood to represent the Matriarch’s father, identified as a descendant of Prophet Jacob (AS, peace be upon him); he was initially described as the grandson of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
- Ḥannah, wife of Imran, is identified as the Matriarch’s mother and is likewise described as a descendant of Jacob.
Ḥannah identifies as Christian and observed Christmas in 2025. She also described having a significant dream about Massiah, but despite this, she expressed discontent with the Matriarch having additional children.
Since 2003–2004, the Matriarch has remained the only Muslim within her family, taking her shahadah following the September 11 attacks. Except for her father, who shares the belief that Isa/Jesus is not God, the rest of the family does not hold this or any similar position. Within this analysis, this separation is understood as a divinely ordained distinction established by Allah between family members, in accordance with His wisdom and decree.
Present Circumstances Reflected in the Qur’an
Building on the interpretive insight that the current era can be read through the Qur’an, this research finds that Allah communicates present circumstances through narratives set in the past. Accordingly, the Matriarch’s current situation is understood to be reflected in earlier accounts of Mary, offering guidance and contextual clarity.
As previously mentioned, the Matriarchal line was established through divine calling and prayer, signifying a covenantal continuity and an enduring spiritual lineage associated with Prophet Abraham (AS).
“Indeed, Allah chose Adam, Noah, the family of Abraham, and the family of Imran above all people.” — Qur’an 3:33
With this understanding, Islam affirms that Jesus (ʿĪsā) is biologically connected to Abraham through Mary, situating him within this sacred lineage and affirming his role in Allah SWT’s overarching divine plan with the genealogy of the Family of Imran.
Relevance Today
FamilySearch has removed the Massiah family from the lineage of Jacob and the Children of Israel. This caused grief, but Allah protects from every side and is the best of planners.
“And (remember) when those who disbelieved plotted against you to restrain you, or to kill you, or to expel you. And they plotted, and Allah planned, and Allah is the best of planners.” — Qur’an 8:30
The Matriarch’s research reinforces that, although the family may appear disconnected culturally or socially, Allah maintains spiritual and genealogical continuity.
Conclusion
The Matriarch is not suggesting that we are Imran, Ḥannah, Mary, or Moses, but that we represent their roles in the Qur’an in the present era.

⚠️ Note: The Matriarch serves and takes instructions from Allah alone, and will always serve Him regardless of anyone’s beliefs.
