🌿 Introduction

“O my father, indeed I saw eleven stars and the sun and the moon; I saw them prostrating to me.” — Qur’an 12:4

🕊️ Betrayed by His Brothers
Joseph’s brothers became jealous of the love their father showed him. Driven by envy, they plotted against him and threw him into a well, telling their father that a wolf had taken him.
Though Jacob was deeply saddened, he responded with patience and trust in Allah.
Joseph was eventually discovered by travellers and taken to Egypt, where he was sold and raised in a noble household. What appeared to be tragedy was, in reality, the beginning of a divine plan.
⚖️ A Test of Integrity
As Joseph grew into adulthood, he faced another severe trial. A woman of the household attempted to tempt him into wrongdoing. Despite the pressure placed upon him, Joseph chose faith and righteousness over temptation.
He prayed to Allah for protection:
“My Lord, prison is more beloved to me than that to which they invite me.” — Qur’an 12:33
Because of false accusations, Joseph was imprisoned. Yet even in prison he remained patient and continued to trust in Allah.

“Thus We established Joseph in the land to settle therein wherever he willed.” — Qur’an 12:56

During the years of famine, Joseph’s brothers travelled to Egypt seeking food. They did not initially recognise the brother they had wronged years earlier.
Eventually Joseph revealed his identity and forgave them, demonstrating remarkable compassion.
“No blame will there be upon you today. Allah will forgive you.” — Qur’an 12:92
Jacob and the rest of the family later arrived in Egypt, fulfilling Joseph’s childhood dream.
🌿 The Fulfilment of the Dream
When Joseph’s parents and brothers were reunited with him, they honoured him in a way that symbolised the fulfilment of the dream he had seen as a child.
Joseph recognised that everything that had happened — the well, the slavery, the imprisonment — was part of Allah’s wisdom.
“My Lord, You have given me authority and taught me the interpretation of dreams…” — Qur’an 12:101
